Evaluation of the degree of internationalization of the documents (if insufficient, possible localization difficulties)

Documents submitted for a localization price quote are analysed to identify any elements for which a supplementary localization charge will need to be applied (drawings containing integrated linguistic elements etc.) |
 |
Word counts

- Standard type texts
The word count is carried out using a statistical tool of the WinWord® type. A special search for redundant elements is only performed if this is explicitly requested by the client.
- Internet Applications in HTML or equivalent format
The word count is carried out in a translation memory (of the Déjà Vu® or Trados® type) on the basis of either documents supplied by the client or an on-line consultation. The words to be translated include all the tag parameters, including the meta-tags. A search for redundant elements is always carried out, and the corresponding word count reduction is applied. |
 |
Delivery dates

If the client has not specified a delivery date in his request for a price quote, we will suggest a reasonable delivery date. In the case of urgent work, we will contact the client to establish the degree of urgency for this job. |
 |
Pricing calculations

- Text entry
If it is necessary to keyboard the files from a paper document, a fixed charge will be made in accordance with the quantity of text.
- Translation
The price calculation will be based on the rates applicable on the date of the price quote. The translation price per word will be multiplied by the volume estimated as per the « word count » paragraph. The price per word depends on three parameters: the degree of urgency (not very urgent or very urgent) the target language (three groups), and the technical level. The classification of a document also depends on whether or not a technical glossary is supplied by the client, and whether work will be necessary to ascertain the correct terminology. |
 |
Information supplied with the price quote

Every price quote will include: the total number of words in the documents, the total number of words after reductions, the price per word, the total price for the job, the acceptance conditions for the client, the payment conditions, and the time required to complete the job in terms of working days from the date the documents to be translated are received. |
 |
Acceptance of a price quote

The client is requested to send the price quote back by fax, with written acceptance, had it signed and dated by the person responsible for this job document and stamped it with his company stamp. Once the acceptance has been received, a computer file and a paper archive file for this job are opened, containing the source data for the price quote, the price quote itself and the acceptance document. When the agreement is received, an acknowledgement is sent to the client by e-mail, confirming the time period necessary for the translation.
