A translator must know how to adapt the message to the culture of the target language, clearly, concisely, and in an acceptable style. This is only possible if he or she translates into his or her mother tongue and cultural background.

Translation quality

Digital formats

All types of digital format (text formats such as Word, pdf, etc… hypertext formats such as HTML, ASP etc…Powerpoint etc…) are processed using tools which maintain all format elements and guarantee that only the language elements to be translated will be modified.
Work relating to the source documents

We inform our clients of misprints or errors noticed in the source documents, within reasonable limits. This is part of the translation service and will not result in any additional charge to the client.
Standardization of procedures

File names – Isolated files
In the case of isolated files, the translated files are always returned to the client with the same name as when received, with an extension which complies with the ISO 639 for the language and the ISO 3166 if there is a specific detail relating to a national language (for example: myfile_en-GB, myfile_fr-CA, myfile_es-AR).

File names - Tree structures
In the case of a set of files which are part of a tree structure, the files will keep their original names so as to avoid problems with any hyperlinks or cross-references, only the root directory for the tree structure will have an extension indicating the target language added to it.
Glossaries

- Obtaining them
We always ask our clients whether they already have any glossaries or other relevant documents relating to the technical area covered by the translation, which they require us to use as a model for terminology. This glossary will be used as an input for the translation work.

- Setting up/Further development
The glossary (either already supplied or set up for the translation job) has an entry added to it each time a specific new technical word occurs in the documents being translated.

- Validation by the client
The glossary is submitted for validation by the client, either as a whole at the end of the translation job, or piecemeal at regular intervals. If no validation is forthcoming within five working days, the glossary is considered to be implicitly accepted by the client, except if there is special agreement to different conditions.

- Use of glossaries (homogenization of terminology)
The glossary is used for all the documents translated, to ensure that the terminology used is coherent throughout.
Terminological research

The new technologies and networks are used intensively for terminological research. Every technical term is validated by its frequency of use in documents published on Internet in the same technical field.
Proofreading and checking

Every document is checked out by a second translator.
